Why YEBW?

Young Entrepreneurs Business Week is designed to excel students’ business competency and confidence in the classroom.

If your high school offers business courses or entrepreneurship clubs, YEBW is a complimentary program that expands upon in-school instruction. If your school doesn’t, YEBW is the perfect supplement…

Business Competency

At this immersive, week-long summer program, students learn about business through hands-on curriculum, activities and competitions.

At the first-year program Business Week, students gain experience running mock companies, developing business concepts and presenting to professionals in the business community.

Whether they’re new to business or more experienced, it’s a great opportunity for students who are:

  • Ambitious and eager to learn
  • Seeking stronger leadership or communication skills
  • Involved in school activities and clubs
  • Looking for professional connections, mentors and new friends
  • Unsure about what they want to do after high school

YEBW empowers motivated young people to explore their talents and interests, while developing transferable skills. As students complete team activities and network with business leader mentors, they learn that there is a business side to every occupation—regardless of whether they pursue entrepreneurship.

College Connection

Each week-long YEBW program offers a one-of-a-kind, on-campus experience at University of Portland, Oregon State University or University of Oregon. Dates and details for YEBW 2017 will be available soon.

Students earn college credit at Oregon State University, regardless of which YEBW campus they choose to attend.

Confidence

Throughout the week, students have opportunities to take on leadership roles and develop professional skills in:

  • Teamwork
  • Goal Setting
  • Time Management
  • Communications
  • Public Speaking

In 2015, 355 students from 107 high schools participated at YEBW. After the camps:

  • 98 percent said they would refer a friend
  • 99 percent increased public speaking confidence
  • 100 percent felt better prepared for a job interview

Students who complete Business Week return to the classroom more informed, inspired and confident.
