Company Advisor Impact

To help build the next generation of business leaders, Young Entrepreneurs Business Week relies on established business owners and professionals from the community. Company Advisors (CAs) are at the core of YEBW’s success.

Professional Development

For professionals who want to mentor youth and make a meaningful impact on future business leaders, the Company Advisor opportunity is a one-of-a-kind professional development experience…

  • Become a better leader.
  • Rise to the challenge and business competition.
  • Empower a team to accomplish their goals.
  • Improve project management and problem solving skills.
  • Enhance coaching and team-building abilities.
  • Participate in inspiring seminars from local entrepreneurs and executives.
  • Network and build relationships with other business and community leaders.

As a volunteer Company Advisor, guide high school students through hands-on business curriculum and leadership training—designed to build competency and confidence. Empower a team of 8-to-10 students to conquer business management objectives, as they prepare for professional presentations, networking, job interviews and more.

Qualifications

The Company Advisor role is ideal for business leaders who want to mentor and motivate young people to grow personally and professionally. CAs are typically mid-level or senior-level managers, small business owners and independent agents who strive to enhance their own leadership and communication skills.

Testimonials

“We are guiding high school students into the business world by introducing them to new mentors and concepts that can help them achieve success in the future … Being a CA was a ton of fun. The amount of growth that I saw from the kids was remarkable. Also, meeting other business professionals was a great experience.”

Evan Amano, Campbell Global

“I enjoyed mentoring the kids, and being able to watch them evolve not only individually, but as a team … I also loved working with other CAs, who are really driven by a greater purpose in mentoring youth … It is one of the most rewarding and valuable experiences I have had. Being around the kids at this camp gave me hope for future generations.”

Meagan English, Meagan English Consulting

“It will be something you’ll remember forever! You don’t need to have all the answers for the kids, instead you just need to know when to push them and keep them thinking about another way to approach their work. I really learned a ton with my one week as a CA and I would recommend YEBW to anyone who is looking to give back to the community and wanting to learn more themselves.”

Cal Conrad, Portland General Electric (PGE)

Time Commitment & Training

One week with YEBW will change your life… With our 7-day program and 1-day training, being an Advisor is an 8-day commitment.

The training session provides a comprehensive introduction to the YEBW experience and curriculum; it offers tools, skills and knowledge to help guide student teams through the week.

Advisors experience YEBW for one full week, from Sunday to Saturday. CAs stay in campus dorms for the whole week at the university of their choice; room and board is covered by YEBW.
