When is the registration fee due?
Business Week staff will send you a congratulations and introduction packet, once you have been accepted. There will be a checklist of things you must return, including a medical form and a code of conduct. Check the list carefully and make sure your parent/guardian has signed the appropriate material. All forms should be returned within the stated time WITH the $295 registration fee (unless you have applied for financial assistance). Your space cannot be held beyond the deadline, so be sure to act promptly.
Suppose I can’t afford the fee?
We recognize that $295 for a summer camp can be expensive for some families. That is why we have put together a packet to help you raise the money yourself. Please download the
Student’s Guide to Community Fundraising. You can also apply for financial assistance by downloading a financial aid form from the website or by contacting the office at

Is there a Code of Conduct?
Yes. Our Code of Conduct that each student and parent/guardian must sign for the student to participate. Violation of the Code of Conduct is grounds to be sent home and potential refusal of acceptance in the future.
Can I have visitors while I am attending Business Week?
The week is a very busy and action packed program, we keep you busy from the time you arrive on Sunday to the time you depart Saturday afternoon. Refer to Week at a Glance. You will have a few breaks during the day, however guests are not allowed on campus. Parents/Guardians that wish to attend some of the sessions are more than welcome.
Can I leave campus while I am at SWU Business Week?
No. There are boundaries within the campus that you must abide by. If you leave the campus for any reason without permission,
you will be sent home, no exceptions!! Any reason for leaving campus will require prior parental approval and confirmation through our office. Students will be required to sign in and out through the business wee office.
How many students will attend Young Entrepreneurs Business Week?
We are accepting only 145 students for 2008. The program will be held if we have less, and we will consider accepting more than 145 if absolutely necessary...remember to refer your friends!

Is transportation provided to Young Entrepreneurs Business Week?
Transportation to Young Entrepreneurs Business Week is the participant’s responsibility. The staff encourages carpooling with other students from your school or area (be aware that those students driving themselves may have to pay for a parking pass).
What do I need to bring with me to Young Entrepreneurs Business Week?
Besides from your enthusiasm and open mind, you will be sent an introduction packet, which will have a list of suggested and required items to bring.
I am a vegetarian, will there be appropriate meals available?
University of Portland Bon Appetite Catering accommodates vegetarians with a wide variety of entrees available at each meal.
What is the dress code for business week programs?
Classes are informal. Most likely the days will be warm, however you should be dressed presentably. Provocative clothing will not be tolerated. Clothing with profanity and inappropriate pictures are not allowed.
On Friday student will be taking part in two different presentations to the business community and it is advised that students come prepared with business attire. Additionally, Friday night we are hosting an etiquette dinner where students have the opportunity to get dressed up in their finest.
How are the students organized for the week?
You will be a part of group of students called a company. Most of your time will be spent in the company meetings as you learn to work as a team. Each has a business person who has volunteered to be your Company Advisor (CA).
